Iowa Family Planning Network (IFPN)

Iowa Family Planning Network (sometimes called "the waiver") is a program designed to offer Iowa women free birth control and reproductive health care. 

If you are female and are 13-44 years of age, Iowa's family planning waiver program may be able to help you with the cost of your family planning related services.  You can apply for this program at your local DHS (Department of Human Services) office.  A single person can earn up to $25,500 a year and still qualify. (You can earn more if you have children or qualified dependents.)

Covered services include:

  • Birth Control Counseling and Exams
  • Contraceptives
  • Emergency Contraceptives
  • Pap Tests
  • Limited STD Testing and Treatment
